The North Coast of the Dominican Republic is the best kept secret in the Caribbean, with property prices starting to rise rapidly and vacation experiences that no other island can match The Dominican Republic is the most undiscovered, diverse and beautiful of any of the Caribbean Islands. During the last three years the La Colonia team, have been acquiring land and designing a luxury villa and apartments community, leisure resort and golf course on a beautiful hillside, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.
The La Colonia Golf Resort is only five miles from the international airport at Puerto Plata, so has direct and one-stop links from all the major cities in North America and Europe.
The accommodation and facilities have been developed to appeal to all ages, from adventurous families to adventurous seniors, lovers of kite-surfing to lovers of sand wedges and sandpipers.
Beautiful investment and vacation homes, or second/retirement homes to enjoy the balmy Caribbean winters and summers.
La Colonia will offer a world class hotel/leisure complex, 830 luxury golf villas, 180 bungalows and 350 apartments in an eco-friendly community, on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. Each villa will have full legal title to its land, which is not normally possible for villa developments in many parts of the Caribbean. The central shopping areas, restaurants, spa in the 'Citadel' and the beach club and hotel complex are expected to be badged and operated under one of the global flags in a second phase
Challenging and rewarding golf of the highest quality - 18 holes set amongst the rolling hills of Puerto Plata, looking up at Isabel del Torres mountain and looking across to stunning sea views. The natural contours of the hills and the Juan Diego Vásquez designed golf course will combine with lush indigenous landscaping, to create a testing and exhilarating experience for improving golfers and low handicappers.
Outdoor spirit - La Colonia will offer owners and guests horse riding, tennis and five miles of nature trails and jogging tracks in this natural gymnasium in the hills.
Adventure - Some guests and vacationers will get all their adventure within the four million square meters of La Colonia, but others will enjoy the wider adventures the North Coast offers outside the gates.
Community - Permanent residents and guests will enjoy the Citadel's shopping, restaurants, meeting centers, coffee shops, sports equipment hire and banking facilities.
Luxury service levels - Full maid service in villas and apartments includes cooking and all housekeeping, coffee and drinks served on demand, manicured lawns and serviced pools - 5-star service with a smile.
We want to create a community of 830 villas, 350 apartments and 180 bungalows, in different standard designs for construction in each phase, with a limited choice of color palettes, fencing/drive designs and low-cost/high quality furnishing packages and more. Clearly this significantly reduces construction costs, sourcing problems, costs of delays and construction variables/errors. We again know that this accelerates the sales and construction process and ensures that the beauty, coherence and environmentally balanced appeal of each phase. Less is more.
The Dominican Republic is blessed with world-class building materials and a wide range of beautiful sustainable native woods. With the obvious practical exceptions we will use these local materials, with the result that we can build very cost-effectively and rapidly, whilst also maximizing the economic benefits to local Dominican people and businesses. We know from experience that this ‘lack of the burden of choice’ reduces hassle for purchasers and increases the coherence and design values of the end product.
